  • For the development of pharmaceuticals or agrochemicals chiral molecules and compounds are often required. For example around 80% of all recently developed pharmaceutically active compounds are chiral. Therefore the demand for optically active intermediates such as chiral amines, alcohols or acids is constantly rising. Asymmetric catalysis is a key-technology for the direct and efficient synthesis of these compounds.

    AIKAA-Chemicals, founded in october 2008 as a technology start-up from the University of Bayreuth, develops and produces new chiral catalyst technologies for asymmetric syntheses. This highly innovative technology relies on novel, efficient and highly selective catalysts that are rather cheap due to a simple preparation protocol.
